Axel is another well-travelled LDC employee. Born in France, he spent five years working at our US office in Wilton, Connecticut, starting off as a finance auditor.
Fast-forward 15 years and Axel is still working for LDC, but he’s spent the last ten years in Australia and has been promoted to the country’s Head of Finance. Like other LDC employees, he values what he describes as the sensibly flat structure and ease of discussion between all levels of the company’s workforce.
When it comes to the commodities business, Axel firmly believes that Finance needs to be involved in the decision-making process, and that there should be more to this involvement than just number-crunching.
“You need to find a way to minimize the data-gathering burden while not compromising its accuracy so that you can focus your efforts on the value-added activities that management expects from a true business partner.”
