Main accountabilities (Main Responsibilities):

 

Business partner

  • Acts as a business partner of the trading desk, supporting it for any routine or ad-hoc business topic, and working closely with the traders on a basis.
  • Prepare and analyze the production of P&L and ensure timely reporting of platform P&L and position.
  • Understand and coordinate business risks reporting of the strategies (market, credit, liquidity, forex…). Ensure shared understanding with the platform.
  • Monitor any non-compliance based on Company’s policies and alert management about any exceptions

Financial reporting

  • Provide commentary to traders and management on the main drivers influencing the businesses P&L based on a solid understanding of the market drivers behind the P&L through conversations with traders
  • Coordinate /weekly/monthly Flash P/L, and check reconciliation with monthly statutory reporting, formulate action plans to minimize differences.
  • Proactively communicate with other function groups (Accounting, Treasury, Execution/Logistic, Regional and Platform control…) to ensure proper reporting and understanding of their platform decisions or new strategies.
  • Ensure thorough knowledge of Working Capital requirements, inventories and volumes – Coordinate and Participate – if necessary - in Cash Flow Forecast process.
  • Coordinate with the help of his/her team Landing, Budget and Business Plan exercises for the platform. Analyze Actual vs Budget or Landing variances for all P&L and Balance Sheet items. Propose action plans to trading desk to improve financial KPIs.
  • Analyze and provide commentary on Commercial Margin, Production Costs, Working Capital, Interests, Volumes and Capex
  • Check and ensure proper allocation of Indirect G&A, Net interests, and defend platform interests in management discussions.

Team management

  • As a team leader, be able to work collectively across functions and drive things moving forward along the road.
  • Motivate and influence team to grow and improve continuously.
  • Have been working in manager role for years

 

     

    Knowledge and Experience:

    At least 8-10 years of experience in finance function mainly in accounting and controlling activities gained in commodity industry or having working experience in a Big 4 will be a plus

     

    Education: Degree in Finance/Accountancy

     

    Systems: nice to have knowledge on SAP

     

     

    Technical/ Functional skills:

     

    • Strong management accounting skillset, including problem solving and analytical skills
    • Good understanding of both PRC GAAP and IFRS
    • Working experience in Commodities trading company is an advantage

     

     

    Other skills and competencies:

     

    • Good verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English
    • Ability to work independently and handle conditions of uncertainty
    • Demonstrated track record of being able to work within deadlines
