The Industrial Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Senior Analyst is responsible for planning, forecasting, and business performance monitoring for the North America industrial assets including strategic analysis which will provide comprehensive insights on financial performance to key stakeholders. This position will partner with commercial teams and functions to seek out value-added business ideas. 

Planning and Forecasting  

  • Maintain and roll out any new industrial Global FP&A requirements to the region  
  • Ensure strategic elements of the industrial budget (e.g. consumption based on operations, pricing strategies, staffing plans, etc.) are aligned with business and commercial FP&A operating plans. 
  • Support and assist the budget process for the North American industrial activities including  
  • Coordinate the timeline and ensure proper communication with all stakeholders across commercial and functional teams 
  • Critically analyze and challenge budget assumptions  
  • Prepare effective budget templates and deliverables within deadlines
  • Support and assist the monthly landing process for industrial teams  
  • Challenge prior budget assumptions and update as needed 
  • Prepare effective landing analysis / commentary within deadlines  
  • Monthly Cash flow forecasting 
  • Coordinate preparation of the regional cash flow forecast  
  • Analyze and challenge business assumptions utilized in cash flow forecasts 
  • Enhance/challenge cash flow reporting process to enhance value of reporting deliverables to various stakeholders  
  • Work with regional treasury teams to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of the regional CFF 

Reporting 

  • Develop reporting structure for key projects and initiatives, with oversight from the FP&A Industrial Manager  
  • Assist in various regional reporting deliverables including regional and industrial reviews 
  • Work with commercial and finance teams to enhance the way information is reported to align with both how management views the business and the reporting needs of the finance function  
  • Produce ad hoc reporting for various stakeholders (industrial operations, Global FP&A, etc.) 

Business Partnering and Analysis  

  • Participate in industrial reviews.  Take ownership for coordinating initiatives which come from those reviews and measuring success of the actions.  
  • Work with various platforms in analysis of CAPEX including, tracking approvals and spending. 
  • Provide any ad-hoc analysis upon request to support business decision making 

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses 

Required qualification: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting 

Preferred qualification: 

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting  
  • Business or Finance Certification (CPA, CGMA, CFA, etc) 

Experience 

Basic qualification:  

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in an accounting or financial analyst role  
  • Experience working in the agribusiness sector 
  • Experience performing balance sheet and income statement financial analysis including written commentary and financial metric analysis  
  • Experience with business planning tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and robotic process automation (RPA) 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands) 

Basic qualifications: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet strict monthly deadlines. 
  • Proactively approaches job duties and potential problems.  
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Ability to build relationships and influence people  
  • Strong and versatile communication skills as a partner to many different stakeholders including commercial teams, global finance, and other functions 
  • Knowledge of accounting and performance metrics  
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other forecasting technology tools
