Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development and Growth:
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in East Africa.
- Drive profitability in the grains business line.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Negotiate and execute profitable sales deals.
- Operational Oversight:
- Monitor and manage local distribution operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth business processes.
- Mentor and train junior team members.
- Financial Management:
- Take full ownership of the grains P&L, including cost control and reporting.
- Resolve client issues and concerns promptly.
- Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct in-depth market analysis and prepare regular reports.
- Contribute to annual budgeting processes.
- Participate in industry events and conferences.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Handle purchase and sales administration.
- Support debt recovery efforts.
- Monitor port operations and regional food supply and demand.
Experience
Experience |
Education:
University Degree: Agribusiness/Financial degree
Good computer knowledge - Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
Background in agriculture will useful
Experience (including number of years):
3-5 years relevant experience
Specific product knowledge
In depth knowledge of commodity trade
Understanding of Cash and Futures Markets
Understanding of regional and global supply/demand
Very good stakeholder management skills
Good working knowledge of Excel (formulation/models) and Microsoft Office.
Good understanding of macro and micro economics
Knowledge of finance and accounting
Ability to handle pressure and think quickly
Ability to work efficiently and accurately
Good mathematical knowledge
