Continuous Improvement Intern

Overall Purpose and Objective of Position: The Continuous Improvement Intern will support the logistics team by identifying and implementing process improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of process mapping, gap analysis, and action plan creation to enhance operational efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Conduct process mapping and analysis to identify inefficiencies.
• Perform gap analysis to determine areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement action plans to address identified gaps.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure successful execution of improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and report on the progress of improvement projects.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist in the documentation of processes and procedures.
• Support the logistics team with other tasks as needed.

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses:

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.

Experience:

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Previous internship or project experience in process improvement.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the logistics or supply chain industry.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in process mapping and gap analysis.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
