Your missions:
We are looking for a Senior Researcher who will report to the Global Head of Research for the Coffee platform.
- Support the Global Robusta trading:
- Lead Global Robusta analysis
- Challenge and suggest global cash and prop Robusta strategies with ad hoc analyses depending on market conditions
- Improve the level of research in Robusta
- Support the Africa coffee trading:
- Lead research for coffee production in Africa
- Understand major buyers and their projected demand
- Maintain the Balance sheet of all African countries
- Challenge the Agronomists on the insight on the farmer level
- Challenge the origin teams on the insight on the mid supply chain level
- Inform the team as fast as possible about updates with selected countries
- Formulate and defend cash strategies in the African countries
- Lead research for coffee production in Africa
- Lead the global coffee demand analysis in consuming countries:
- Maintain and improve the understanding of Consuming Countries
- Prepare and maintain bottom-up and top-down demand analyses by country and globally
- Proactively maintain forecasts and realized stocks where visible to derive conclusions on demand by ICO basket
- Make the link between marketing teams and research on demand side
- Be reactive in updating the team of updates in consuming countries
- Maintain and improve the understanding of Consuming Countries
- Optimize usage of 'MARS' (balance sheet system) and lead a small team that helps operating it:
- Give business perspective to MARS developers for developments and resolution of issues
- Be proactive in proposing developments of the tool
- Spread the knowledge of the tool within the platform
Experience

Your profile:
- University degree in numerical subject
- Around 5 years of experience in analytical roles, ideally within commodities
- Prior exposure to soft commodities markets beneficial
- Strong logical reasoning and interest in the functioning of markets and its underlying causes
- Analytical skills with a focus on fundamentally founded statistical analysis
- Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and oral)
- Ability to lead projects
- Coding skills: sound knowledge of Python and SQL beneficial
- Willingness to travel when required
- Fluent in English
