Key Responsibility:

  • Fundamental research of China oil complex
    • Maintain China oils balance sheets by gathering and consolidating data and information internally and externally
    • Communicate to global and China team on the changes, flags, and reasons
    • Collaborate with marketing and trading team on data collection and information sharing
    • Build and maintain external relationships to know market information and bias
  • Price and order-flow analytics in China oils market
    • Validate factors that influences order-flows and forecast the changes of these factors
    • Provide price insights from fundamental perspectives of China and world oil b/s
    • Actively participate in trading and crush management discussions
  • Oil research data management and modeling
    • Together with China and global data engineering and scientist, to manage (collect, clean, store, and document) data related to China oil research, and to build (demand, order-flow, and price) models in the analysis process
  • Continuous improvement on overall research methods and communication

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proven quick learning capability
  • Python/R skills in data collection, processing, and analysis is highly preferred; Excel proficiency
  • Analytical and logical mindset; critical thinking and problem solving; attention to details
  • Good communication, and teamwork spirit.
  • Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Fluent in English

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • 2~5 years’ working experience in agriculture or commodity research
  • Preferred working experience includes oils or oilseeds fundamental and trading research
