“I enjoy working at Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) because I’m encouraged to face new challenges all the time. Also it’s a very diverse company: we are connected with colleagues, suppliers and customers from all over the world.”
I was offered a traineeship at LDC in 2012: my first job after I gained my degree in Food Engineering. I joined as an Industrial Trainee at the Bebedouro Plant - the company’s largest juice factory - in São Paulo state, Brazil.
At the end of my traineeship, I gained further experience working as a Production Engineer for two years at the same plant, before moving to the Paranavaí Plant, in Paraná for twelve months, where I supervised production and managed the plant’s overall activities. In 2016, I returned to Bebedouro were I worked for one year and six months like a Plant Manager.
In October 2017 I had the opportunity to assume the Quality Department as Juice Quality Manager responsible for all Quality Control and Quality Assurance of the Juice Platform.
As Quality Manager I have the responsibility to support and guarantee the control of the process since the factory with the raw material until delivery to the costumers through the terminals. All that with the goal of ensuring the agreed specification with our customers.
A key focus is ensuring we supply the customer with products of the highest quality, while striving to add as much value as possible to the business.
We supply products like frozen concentrate orange juice (FCOJ), not from concentrate orange juice (NFC), lime and lemon concentrate juice, oils extracted from orange and lime/lemon, cells, citrus pellets used in the animal feed industry, dry peel to pectin industry, and citric aromatic essences.
Good people management skills are key to success in this area of the business, together with organization and focus. But above all, a strategic vision of the business is essential.
I’ve been passionate about food processing. I’m proud to be working for a company whose products can be found on so many tables around the world, every day. On top of that, LDC is a large international company where everyone is given the chance to learn, and empowered to make things happen. So all in all, working for LDC is a proud to me!
