“You can always learn something new every day, no matter how many years you have been doing your job”
After 27 years with LDC, Ariel says he is still learning new things every day. As Regional Platform Head for South Latin America, he manages the grain trading activities in the region, leading a large team of traders.
It’s a role that requires both rigorous attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
His job requires Ariel to play close attention to a wide variety of market influences – anything for political events to the weather – and to be resilient and proactive when the market behaves in unexpected ways. This leads him to describe his job as often challenging, but never dull.
“The challenge is big and sets the bar really high. Every campaign is different, and that is really motivating.”
