What we have on offer
As an Industry Trainee, you will experience during a 1-year developmental rotational program based within our Abidjan logistics assets of Louis Dreyfus Company (Grains & Oilseeds platform) and rotations in various locations within Africa region or other regions where LDC assets located.
You will be trained to obtain systematic knowledge of each position, giving you a broad understanding of the business and preparing you for a managerial role within one of our assets after successful completion of the program.
Under the direct supervision of the respective Asset Manager (or equivalent), you will be gaining practical and hands-on experience while at the same time applying your technical knowledge to perform a variety of tasks for ongoing industrial activities.
While you learn various aspects of facility operations, which includes supervision, engineering, maintenance, project management and safety management, you will be expected to contribute to productivity, quality and process improvement.
You may be responsible for a significant part of the production process at an early stage of the program including responsibility for the teams that make it happen.
You will be assigned at least one major engineering project to improve efficiency and costs for your facility.
What we expect you to do:
Participate in the day-to-day running of your assigned facility in various positions.
Learn safe operating practices and work to maintain and improve facility safety to support the company SHE goals and initiatives.
Learn facility maintenance that includes planning, work order system, preventive maintenance, part inventory and supervision.
Participate in engineering and construction projects for your facility. Complete project analysis and planning, including the justification for the project and required budget, while considering employee safety as well as food safety and environmental requirements.
Develop people management skills in a supervisory role that includes staff planning, time management and performance management.
Participate in projects to sustain productivity, cost, Capacity increase and efficiency gains.
Do you have what it takes?
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics /Process / Industrial Engineering from recognized University.
Experience
- 0 to 2 years of increasingly responsible work experience in engineering through internships or entry level positions.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering field
- An interest in projects , operations , Maintenance ,Quality and Safety .
Skills
- Ability to work with 12-hour rotational shifts, as well as off-shift call-in requirements when needed
- Ability to work through details of a problem to reach a solution; creative and forward-thinking
- Ability to show resistance in tense or complex situations, during peak times or high workloads while maintaining the same level of quality in the work performed.
- Ability to make the necessary decisions to achieve objectives in an agile and proactive way, considering all available options
- Ability to build and work within highly effective and motivated teams
- Ability to positively and proactively communicate to all stakeholders, partners and team members, both written and verbal
- Ability to positively influence others to reach a preferred solution
- At ease in managing change and ambiguity; delivering performance despite changing context and external environment
- Proficient skills of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, are required
