The Food/Feed Safety and Quality Coordinator will play an important role in managing and coordinating the food and feed safety certifications, identity preserved certifications, and support the plants in maintaining SMEDTA compliance.

This role will report to the Regional Director, Quality and Food Safety supporting the regional Quality and Food Safety team.

 

Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Certification Management

  • Coordinate and facilitate FSSC2200 Certification audit schedules, Non-Conformance closures, and sharing of better practices within the region.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Kosher, Halal, Organic, and NonGMO-PV audits, non-conformance closures, and maintaining the local site’s schedule A and schedule H.

Internal Audit Program Management

  • Coordinate the internal Food/Feed Safety and Quality Management System audit program including PRP verification of effectiveness program.
  • Partnering with regional cross-functional partners (legal, HR, Accounting, etc.) in supporting the LDC internal audit program.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Partnering with Regional Legal to maintain regulatory registrations (US FDA, CFIA), local state /provincial licenses, and export licenses.

Social and Sustainability Programs

  • Partnering with regional and global Social Responsibility and Sustainability partners to ensure regional sites’ programs within SEDEX.

Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Regional Food/Feed Safety and Quality team.
  • Support foreign supplier verification program activities with various administrative tasks.
  • Reviewing and ensuring accurate KPI reports and trend analysis and publishing as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree – Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or similar
  • Food or Feed Safety and Quality in a manufacturing setting experience 1-2 years.
  • Demonstrated analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Power BI

Preferred Skills

  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual – Human Food or Animal Feed
  • Identity Preserved Status certification processes (Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO PV, etc.)
  • Global Food Safety Initiative certification scheme (FSSC22000, BRC, SQF, IFS, etc.)
  • Functional knowledge of Quality Management Systems

Job Description
