The Controller plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of all financial information across trading and non-trading activities within the country. This includes ensuring compliance with Group Policies and local GAAPs while maintaining robust financial controls. Beyond traditional financial responsibilities, the Controller acts as a strategic business partner to the commercial team, providing insights and support to drive informed decision-making, optimize performance, and contribute to the organization’s overall success.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Daily/Weekly Trading Position Consolidate on a Daily/Weekly basis, the trading activity for Oilseeds (Soymeal & Rapeseed) and Grains (cash contracts, future contracts, and freight contracts).
  • Weekly Estimates Calculation of the weekly P&L based on the position, price movements and execution results.
  • Month/year end monitoring and coordination Closing Coordination and Control (with local accounting, SSC in Bulgaria, execution team), P&L Reconciliation versus estimates, Sign Off, Ageing Balance Monitoring, Month End Forex positions monitoring, Cash flow forecast, Presentation to country manager, Presentations to Regional finance team, etc.)
  • Budget process coordination Commercial margin and Working Capital estimates, Volumes estimates, Input into the system, Coordination with several functions (tax, accounting, treasury, regional FP&A team)
  • Adhoc requests from country manager Commercial Margin Monitoring (Revenues & Costings); G&A analysis, Landing P&L calculation, presentations; etc.), statistics (historical Volumes, financial results, etc).
  • 5+ years of experience in controlling, financial analysis or accounting. Experience in trading companies will be appreciated
  • A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with cash flow forecasting, commercial margin analysis, and variance reconciliation. 
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams (e.g., accounting, tax, treasury, FP&A) for month-end closings and budgeting processes. 
  • A proactive mindset with experience handling ad hoc requests, including data analysis and report preparation
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and financial modeling tools will be considered a plus 

Technical/ Functional skills:

  • Advanced English and Polish knowledge (Spoken/written)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, financial modeling, and data visualization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., local GAAP), and month-end closing processes. 
  • Analytical skills to calculate weekly P&L estimates, monitor Forex positions, and analyze aging balances.
  • Competence in preparing presentations for senior management and regional finance teams.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate input from multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.

  • Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-Motivation and Self-Starter with the ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged;
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines;

  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
