Job Title: Zambia Regional SHE Coordinator
Location: Kabwe, Zambia and Katete, Zambia
Position Overview: As the Regional SHE Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the implementation of best practices in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) at your assigned Sites and in order to guarantee a safe work environment at all time.
Requirements:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective SHE management systems and procedures for the sites in alignment with corporate standards and local regulations to ensure compliance .
- Serve as a subject matter expert on SHE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct regular SHE audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action plans to mitigate SHE risks and improve performance.
- Analyze incident data to identify trends and root causes, and develop strategies for prevention.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and their outcomes, ensuring timely reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver SHE training programs for employees at all levels.
- Coordinate the scheduling of training sessions and track employee participation.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees regarding SHE policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SHE considerations into operational planning, design, and execution of projects and activities.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among sites to promote the exchange of best practices and lessons learned in SHE management.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response protocols.
- Ensure that emergency response equipment and resources are readily available and properly maintained.
- Monitor and analyze SHE performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive SHE reports to senior management, including performance metrics, incident statistics, compliance status, and action plan updates.
- Conduct mandatory SHE induction to all first-time entrants to the site to ensure awareness of SHE standards and requirements
Experience
Experience |
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in SHE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) preferred.
- Experience in a similar role and industry, with a strong understanding of SHE principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications for data analysis and reporting
