The DT&A Department of Louis Dreyfus Company is currently looking for a Data Modeler for its Data & Analytics Services team, to be based in Buenos Aires.

As a Data Modeler, you will become the technical lead of our data and analytics platform, understanding how all pieces work together and interact. Starting from high-level design choices driven by business strategy, you will collaborate with our team to set the standards, guidelines, best practices, and patterns. You are actively involved in developing solutions and products for advanced data analytics. 

Main responsibilities:  

  • Responsible of modeling complex and large transactional data (e.g. Contracts), ensuring that our business intelligence is backed by accurate and high-quality data.
  • Design and implement robust software solutions in Python and SQL, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Schedule and automate workflows, enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate in the development and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure, applying best practices in DevOps to ensure high data availability and scalability.
  • Work closely with data scientists, quantitative researchers and trading teams to understand their data needs, providing technical solutions that enable effective data analysis and strategy implementation.
  • Create Explorative Data Analytics (EDA) and statistical analysis to build data products with business edge.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in software development, data engineering, and cloud technologies, integrating new tools and techniques where beneficial.
  • Play a key role in ML initiatives, facilitating seamless integration of machine learning models into production environments.
  • Query external APIs to build our own databases

Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in Python and SQL preferably on architecting software solutions 
  • 1+ years’ experience on cloud based data solutions, ideally based on MS Azure framework 
  • 1+ years’ experience in data modelling and data analysis
  • 1+ years’ experience working with third party APIs

Any of the following considered a plus:  

  • Experience in the commodities sector, with a preference for the agriculture, weather, or trading industries.
  • Experience supporting a Data science platform 
  • Agile framework, product mindset 
  • Data visualization tools, preferably PowerBI and/or DASH 
  • Big data techniques: high performance computing, spark, scalable solutions. 

Languages:

  • Fluent in English, oral and written is a must
  • Fluent in Portuguese will be a plus

Academics

  •  A Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Business/Management Information Systems, Computer/Systems/Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Research or Statistics. Other backgrounds will be considered with relevant work experience.
