EMEA Tax Department is the in-house tax department of Louis Dreyfus Company for the Europe, Black Sea, Middle East and Africa region and is specialized in supporting the business in all aspects of taxation (International taxation regimes, corporate tax, indirect tax) and supporting the business in the management of their taxes. EMEA Tax Department analyses situations, solves problems and detects opportunities, being in contact with the tax authorities.


EMEA Tax Department has a vacancy for an Indirect Tax Specialist who will assist the EMEA VAT Senior Manager (Global Indirect Tax Management and Planning Leader) in the organization and preparation of the VAT compliance for the different EU VAT registrations of the Louis Dreyfus Company Group.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and perform control checks in the VAT accounting reports;
  • Ensure VAT law changes are communicated and implemented by the business;
  •  Responsible for preparing and/or arranging for the timely submission of all VAT returns together with other VAT compliance related matters for the EU VAT registrations of the group;
  • Preparing VAT reconciliations;
  • Support in preparing replies to queries raised by the tax administrations;
  • Support and lead Indirect tax Audits;
  • Ensuring that tax compliance affairs are kept up to date and that tax administration’s deadlines are met;
  • Delivering quality advisory tax services;
  • Set up tax codes in the ERP systems based on the mapping of the supply chain;
  • AI results research and resolution;
  • Implementation of new systems support in countries person is responsible for (SAP and Avalara);
  • Assist with other day to day accounting, VAT/Customs compliance issues, and VAT advice as the need arises;
  • Travelling to EU countries might be required.

The successful applicant should:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Fluent in English verbal and written
  • Eager to learn on the job. VAT training on the different jurisdictions will be provided in-house
  • Be computer literate and have an excellent working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Be accurate and have good judgment, numerical knowledge and willing to learn
  • Ability to question and challenge positively
  • Accounting qualification and experience a positive
  • Ability to give and receive feedback
