LDC is looking for a Middle Officer for the Coffee Platform in Madrid (permanent position).

 

The Middle Officer´s responsibilities, as part of the finance organization, includes generating the trading position (in collaboration with the business) and independent price verification.

 

Your missions:

  • Consolidate, validate and explain the platform’s position  
  • Ensure daily production of Global position in an accurate and on-time manner, being a key point of contact with the platform
  • Work with Team in day-to-day issues resolution, to make the position process issuance as smooth as possible
  • Develop trading market understanding (Futures/Cash/Pol/Expiries/Options/Brokers)
  • Support Trading Desk in Position related issues management
  • Ensure that Market Risk system receives proper position and prices data
  • Ensure that positions reported to Platform and Market Risk match and agree
  • Price population: identify curves to be integrated in the Central Prices Database (Zema) and follow up of price population
  • Contact counterparts if prices are missing and follow up
  • Correction of any price series if needed into Market Risk system
  • Make sure that business units are well allocated within the organization
  • Perform Prices validation using third party data and contracts (independent price verification)
  • Collaborate with the other finance functions (Operational Controlling / FP&A) and Execution to ensure efficiency and data accuracy
  • Monitor Trade capture of the platform to ensure data quality
  • Manage IT tools used to improve existing processes and make them as efficient and automated as possible (Excel Formulas/Macros/Databases, project contribution)

Your profile:

  • Diploma in Business or Finance or Economics
  • At least 5 years of relevant experiences similar to this position
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and VBA; Python is a plus
  • Ease with numbers
  • Interest in the commodity business
  • Willingness to learn, curiosity
  • Intercultural management skills
  • English and Spanish fluent
