Overall Purpose and Objective of Position

Maintain grounds, building, shop and working areas of facility.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Responsible for completion of work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of the structure of the establishment, including floors, driveways, walls, etc.
  • Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements.
  • Assist with the repair/maintenance of the shop area as needed.
  • Respond to emergency situations in accordance with departmental protocol.
  • Assist Supervisor/Manager in establishing and maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories and logs.
  • Replenish supplies including bathrooms, light fixtures, shop as needed.
  • Pressure wash and clean equipment as needed.
  • Operate sweeper, golf cart and lift truck as needed.
  • Communicate effectively to appropriate individual building status, needed repairs and changes.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, policies & procedures, codes of conduct and best practices.
  • Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times with co-workers, vendors, managers, etc.
  • Utilize materials, supplies, tools and other building property in a safe, productive manner.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver license.
  • Must be fluent in English required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

  • Ability to read/write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Use common sense when solving problems.
  • Job requirements include standing, walking, sitting, use of hands to finger, to handle and feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Have the ability to speak and hear.
  • Required to regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities are required. These include good close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision. Good depth perception and the ability to focus are necessary.

Working Conditions

Duties are performed in typical warehousing conditions in and outside of building. Working frequently near moving mechanical parts. Could be exposed to fumes and cotton dust.

No supervisory responsibilities.

Decision Making/Accountability

Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of duties.
