In this role you will find yourself working closely with the Financial Controller within the areas of management accounting, budgeting and forecasting, fixed assets integrity, stock control and finance systems while also managing a team of controllers within our Grain and Oil division.

Some Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

  • Responsibility for timely completion of reliable and accurate monthly management financials to assist the Financial Controller in the completion of a monthly Australia Finance reporting for G&O platform
  • Providing a review of Trading financial results on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Interpret data and provide analysis for internal stakeholders on P&L, volume, revenue and production cost drivers each month or as per requested
  • Preparation and review of the annual company budget in collaboration with Financial Controller for the G&O platform including industry division for Ports, Country Sites and Industry Corporate business units
  • Responsibility for the maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register ensuring assets reconcile back to the general ledger and all depreciation journals in the accounting and tax books are accurate
  • Analysis of capex project applications to ensure they meet group investment hurdle rates
  • Responsibility for the production and distribution of monthly Capex reporting
  • Preparation of the quarterly fixed asset register for tax effective accounting.
  • Overseeing and responsible for the integrity of the billing module within CSM delivers an accurate source of truth for transactional data when migrated into the ERP
  • Managing the G&O Controlling team including development planning, teak workload management and motivating team to achieve group objectives.
  • Develop in the understanding and application of relevant accounting standards such as AASB 16 Leases and AASB 116 Property, Plant and Equipment with communication of updates to the Finance Team

About you:

  • Membership of Professional accounting organization (eg CPA or ICAA)
  • 5 or more years’ experience in a finance role - preferred
  • Technical accounting knowledge gained from a medium - large/complex corporate environment, reporting according to Australian Accounting Standards
  • Good knowledge of accounting processes (including variance analysis, GL posting, accruals and reconciliations) and management reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with key end-to-end business processes and associated internal controls such as budgeting and forecasting, invoicing and billing, procure-to-payment
