Turkey is the 5th biggest consumer and 4th biggest importer of cotton in the world. Being the biggest cotton merchant worldwide, Louis Dreyfus Company has an important operation and market share on the Turkish market.

The focus of the role will be to:

  • Execute and convey instructions regarding the transport and storage of goods, including national/international deliveries in containers and trucks. Initiation of invoicing for these goods through the internal system.
  • Contact with suppliers, customers, shipping companies,  agents, warehouses, custom agents and port terminals.

Main responsibilities:

  • Follow up of cotton contracts execution, domestically or imports/exports;
  • Performing frequent calls to logistics providers, agents, customers and other service providers;
  • Update of internal tracking system for trade execution, including initiating invoicing procedure;
  • Release of goods to recipients and invoicing/payment control;
  • Managing deliveries from warehouse/port/suppliers to customers;
  • Managing the flow of numerous documents (electronic and paper);
  • Reconciling weights and payables on a daily basis;
  • Insurance of goods/warehouses/trucks;
  • Following and tracking changes in legal and customs regulations;
  • Contact with the execution/logistics teams in international LDC offices, including, but not limited to Geneva, Memphis, Beijing and Sao Paulo;
  • Participation in the creation of drafts of documents (contracts), internal documents and Letters of Credit;
  • Follow up of shipment instructions, prepayments and bookings and any other export / import shipments documentations.

 

     

     

    Education: 

    • Diploma or degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration or other relevant discipline.

    Languages: 

    • fluent in English - written and verbal

    Technical/ Functional skills:

    • Excel and MS Office products
    • Ideally technical knowledge on logistic operations and systems.

    Skills and competencies:

    • Strong analytical skills;
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changes;
    • Ability to work independently and remotely with high level of commitment and engagement;
    • Data-driven with attention to details;
    • Highly disciplined and rigorous in reporting and controlling business metrics;
    • Strong coordination skills in international environment;
    • Team player who is pro-active and forward thinking;
    • Good communication skills.
    • Knowledge and understanding of domestic and import/export execution flows and on operation management will be a plus
