Key Responsibilities:  

  • Purchases and sales of Kenyan Coffee
  • Develop local supply chain and increase new trade flows on supply side
  • Assist in management of trade positions on behalf of Louis Dreyfus Commodities Kenya
  • Assist in updating and maintaining trading PnL and reporting
  • Assist in Coffee market reports and carry out in depth analysis
  • Client relationships and communication
  • New opportunities exploration
  • Liaising with operations on best execution and delivery
  • Follow up on late payments/potential client defaults
  • Reporting to key platform personnel
  • Documentation and contractual approval/verification
  • Monitoring of risk and credit terms
  • Monitoring competition and barriers to entry

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Sound knowledge of Kenyan coffee grades and qualities
  • Understanding of Cash and Futures Markets
  • Understanding of regional and global Coffee supply/demand
  • Ability to get on well with people and relate to and handle various customers on different levels
  • Good working knowledge of Excel (formulation/models) and Microsoft Office in general
  • Good understanding of macro and micro economics
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting
  • Ability to handle pressure and think quickly
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Good mathematical/ analytical knowledge

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business or relate degree
  • Good computer knowledge
  • Proficient (Advance) in MS Office
  • Background in agriculture useful
