The objectives of such strategic project are to enhance steering capabilities, increase control / compliance and improve efficiency through the implementation of group wide core model processes supported by standard organization principles and a single ERP (SAP S/4Hana completed by SAP Ariba).

The procurement function is expected through the project completion, based on the implementation of a single operating model, to reinforce their ability to deliver LDC on the addressable spend (approx. $1,2bn globally) with the following value pillars:

  • Continuity: Define appropriate category strategies and drive supplier performance to reduce supply related operational risks

  • Efficiency: Improve efficiency of the purchase to invoice flow through integrated end to end processes

  • Control: Increase cost / budget control and Reduce fraud risks based on policies and continuous controls

  • Savings: Deliver cost reduction and avoidance based on category strategy, market intelligence and rigorous vendor selection process

As part of this journey which has been going on for the last years, LDC designed and built such solution core model and initiated its roll out through the deployment of in various countries such as Germany, France, Uruguay, Switzerland, Argentina and United States. Next phase of the project which is planned to last 4 years will be focused on deploying the solution to all the geographies LDC operates in to collect the expected value.

The Procurement BPO - NLT will be in charge, for North Latam region (Brazil) and within the program team and organization, of leading ‘hands on’ from a functional standpoint the deployment of ‘BOLD procurement’ (processes, systems and operating principles) and owning the procurement processes within the country (Source to Contract and Purchase to pay with underlying Master Data Management) with a constant focus on the macro project and function objectives towards value creation for the company.

Such activities shall be performed in full alignment with the core / global BOLD program team and in coordination with key country  stakeholders within and outside of the procurement function (IT, Procurement Subject Matter Experts, finance / Account Payable teams, master data teams, industry teams…).

Initial focus will be given to lead analysis, identify gaps, plan strategy and oversee the project execution to guarantee a smooth transition between the current Brazil ERP (Tango) used in all Platforms to the BOLD project environment. This project is expected to last 3 years and will be followed by the implementation of the remaining Source to Contract and Purchase to Pay processes as part of the larger ERP implementation.

The success of the project is foundational for the procurement team to reach the next maturity level towards improved value creation for LDC.

As an additional context information, LDC procurement addressable scope in North Latam is worth approximately $380m spent across four main (mostly) indirect spend categories such as Industry Supplies (Chemicals, Energy, Packaging), Industry operations (spare parts, maintenance services, outsourced labors and various other services), Projects (Greenfield, Brownfield, SHE…) and G&A expenses.

The Procurement Process Owner - North LATAM will be accountable for the realization of the expected procurement related benefits in the country across the full addressable spend and will need to maintain the focus on value creation for the company across each and every activity.

Across the various phases of the project, the role will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform the discovery phase to guarantee the right project implementation according to LDC necessities identifying the Gaps / Improvements between the current version of Tango to the new version of BOLD

  • Identify, mobilize, align and maintain the appropriate procurement stakeholders network (in/outside the country,  in/outside the function, in/outside the project, in/outside the company - ie suppliers where impacted) and ensure the knowledge of such network on the project objectives, scope, content… remains at the level it needs to be,

  • Build, maintain and execute the Organization Change Management plan which shall consist of a proper impact analysis of BOLD operating model in the country on process, system and people together with proper action plan for any identified gap (where such actions can be either process modification, system development or organization adjustments)

  • Drive the functional requirements articulation to a maximal adoption of the core model  (or possibly enrichment of such core model) and an adaptation to the country needs to the extent such adaptation is value driven on a case by case and really needed, either driven by legal / regulatory constraint or specific value drivers,

  • As part of the LDC group wide procurement BPOs network, contribute to the enrichment of the global core model so that such core model keeps fitting to what the company needs over the time,

  • Where system localization is needed and approved, ensure requirements are properly articulated / documented so that it can be seamlessly delivered by project ‘factories’ and any delivery is tested properly,

  • Develop, implement through initial and continuous training and manage solution Key Users across all the processes at stake (Purchase to Pay, Source to Contract and Master Data related), to support the initial project, run and continuous enhancements activities,
